Originally published in the German as "Argert Dich Dein Rechtes Auge', Franz Schneekluth, Darmstard, 1957. This first English translation by Norman Denny. The central character and narrator of this novel is a young physicist, Thomas Grey, favourite pupil of Europe's most illustrious scientist, the Prince de Bary. They are subjected to ruthless pressure to surrender the fruits of their research for political and military purposes. Throw into the mix several love interests and you have . . . Contents, three 'books', viz: Alberta, Moira, Giselle. The author, Heinrich Schirmbeck was born in Recklinghausen, Germany, in 1915, and died in 2005.
